  1. The following are the rules for the OLDCARS FIDO-NET echo conference. This 
  2. conference is carried on the FIDO-NET backbone and is moderated by Gerry 
  3. Calhoun at 1:102/1304. These rules will be subject to change if a change 
  4. seems needed or is requested. Enforcement of the rules will be handled both in 
  5. the echo and via net-mail. Repeated violations of the rules may be considered 
  6. grounds for the offending node to have its link to this conference cut.

  8. Rule #1:
  9.     Please try to keep your language suitable to all ages. Remember this 
  10.     message base is open to all age groups, and some may take offense to 
  11.     foul language.
  12.  
  13. Rule #2:
  14.     The topic here is OLD CARS. What makes a car an old car? That is a good 
  15.     question, but for the purposes of this echo, lets call 15 years old, 
  16.     old enough for now, but this is a very flexible rule, as the main topic 
  17.     is CARS.

  19. Rule #3:
  20.     No unsolicited commerical sales announcements please. This echo is
  21.     carried by sysops who foot the bills out of their own pockets for the
  22.     most part. If sommebody asks for a source of a CAR-RELATED item, feel
  23.     free to offer advice on where to look for something, or to mention that
  24.     you have what they are looking for. If you have something which you
  25.     feel may be of interest to somebody here and are NOT in the business
  26.     of selling that item and it is OLD CAR-related, you may post about
  27.     it here.

  29. RULES #4:
  30.     No unsolicited BBS ads here. If you know of a system which has a 
  31.     program or file that somebody has asked about, feel free to post the 
  32.     name, phone number and location of the system, but no messages saying
  33.     "Call this system now" type of thing.
  34.  
  35. Rule #5:
  36.     Keep the message-quoting to a minimum, please. Most BBS's are run out
  37.     of the pockets of private sysops, and nobody wants to pay for (or see)
  38.     a 20-line message quoted in full to have somebody else say "I Agree".

  40. Rule #6:
  41.     Keep the personal attacks to a minimum, please. Everybody has seen 
  42.     messages posted by people who strike you as complete fools, but
  43.     you do not have to call a person names in order to give an answer or
  44.     correct him/her on a point. Hold the flames to a mimimum and try to 
  45.     keep this a fun place.

  47. These are all the rules for now. If any other points come up in the future, 
  48. they will be addressed and added to this list if necessary. If there are
